Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) sport academy being constructed in Addis Ababa will commence operation at the end of the coming Ethiopian budget year, the Ethiopian Football Federation said.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) financed the construction of the academy, in which its construction took over seven years, according the Federation.
Up on competition, the Addis Ababa Academy shall be the base for the sports in the Eastern Africa sub region. The infrastructure is also expected to host trainings.
CAF has been constructing CAF Academies, to be hub for sports in the sub-regions.
The creation of CAF Academies falls in line with the development Programme of the Confederation in order to help provide the continent with quality infrastructure.
Each of the academies shall host seminars, refresher courses, for actors in the area of refereeing, training, administration and Sports medicine.
