Houston Rockets rookie Clint N’Dumba Capela has only played seven games this season, but this hasn’t stopped him from grabbing the African Player of the Week distinction for games play from 23 to 30 March.
On Tuesday morning, the Switzerland native of Congolese origin made the most of the Dwight Howard rest day, coming up with aggressive and impressive plays, although the playoffs bound Rockets fell 99-96 to the Toronto Raptors.
Capela took the opportunity to score the first basket of his NBA career on an alley-oop from MVP candidate James Harden in the first quarter.
But, he was ready to show a lot more, and finished with eight points on four eye-popping dunks and a team-high nine rebounds and two blocks.
On the 6th of November, Capela made his NBA debut in a 98-81 home victory over the reigning champions San Antonio Spurs, but only contributed three rebounds, and one assist.
