Thabo Sefolosha and the Atlanta Hawks have reached a three-year agreement worth $12 million on Thursday.
The 30-year-old spent the past five seasons at Oklahoma City Thunder, and gained admiration for his perimetre defensive skills.
Since he became an unrestricted free-agent this post season, Sefolosha received the interest from a number of teams, including the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Sefolosha joins the Hawks after the departure of Lou Williams who agreed terms with the Toronto Raptors.
The 6-foot-7 guard Swiss-born of South-African origin, averaged 6.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in 61 starts for the Thunder this past season.
His departure from Oklahoma City opens doors to rising stars Reggie Jackson, Jeremy Lamb and Andre Roberson who are now poised for significant more playing time.
Sefolosha has started more than 400 regular-season games since entering the NBA in 2006.
The Thunder were eliminated in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals to San Antonio in a season that Sefolosha started 61 regular-season games.
